Story telling with a fresh perspective…
The freedom of expression, to share your stories, thoughts and ideas, to hold opinions and to receive and impart information is at the core of Life Journalism and FunMonk.
We all have stories from our own life experiences – some funny, some crazy, some inspiring, some informative, some provocative, some filled with exploration and others outlandish. The stories are intricately interlaced with people, conversations, places, cuisine, events, gadgets & things, ideas and emotion. These stories make our lives interesting. Sharing these moments of joy and discovery uplifts us, has the potential to brighten the life of others or radically impact the world in ways unforeseen.
We seek stories rich with perspectives, background and key elements of that perspective. Looking at ideas holistically rather than as isolated events or instances provides insight into the issues, trends and impact around a topic. Rich stories are more likely to motivate passive consumers of news who don’t have an opinion on an issue to take action and seek active participation in socio, civic and political life, thus enabling them to lead richer, fuller lives. It appears to be reasonable that such information will engage audiences.
Our opinions are shaped by circumstances, the people in our lives, the schools and organizations we associate with, the places we visit, religion, the music we listen, movies we watch, our experiences and the news sources we patronize. Our stories, ideas and our opinions define us. They are our Zebra stripes.
FunMonk is a platform to openly share stories, discuss ideas and issues that are important to our life, our communities, democracy and world at large. Here, be at ease to frankly voice yourself while you respectfully engage with contrary ideas and facts. Through story telling, we seek to break ideological silos and serve to construct rational public opinion on routine issues but those important to all of us.
You don’t have to be an accomplished author, seasoned expert or a reputed journalist to share your stories. We invite you to share your stories and express yourself using simple words and photos (if available) – those that others like you will relate to, enjoy and seek more.
So, if you have a willingness to collaborate, share, deliberate and engage in extremes, this is the right place. Every thing else here is minimalist allowing all of us to focus on the most important thing – the story or the idea.
